Abu Dhabi, UAE – UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah in a meeting that addressed the fraternal relations between the two countries.
The meeting also discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation in various fields.
The Kuwaiti Foreign Minister conveyed the greetings of the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah,
and his wishes for continued security and prosperity for the UAE.
In turn, the UAE President asked the Foreign Minister to convey his greetings to the Emir of Kuwait,
wishing Kuwait and its people further progress and development.
Strengthening bilateral relations
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the historical relations between the UAE and Kuwait.
They emphasized the importance of developing frameworks for cooperation and joint action to achieve mutual interests.
They also stressed the importance of cooperation that benefits both brotherly nations.
Discussion of regional developments
The meeting addressed developments in the region, particularly in light of current security challenges.
The Emirati and Kuwaiti sides also discussed the repercussions of Iranian attacks
on countries in the region and the threat they pose to regional and international security and stability.
Emphasis on protecting sovereignty
Both sides affirmed the importance of joint efforts to defend their security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
They stressed the need to counter any threats targeting civilians or vital infrastructure.
A number of senior UAE officials attended the meeting. At the conclusion of the visit,
the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister departed the country, where he was seen off by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and several other officials.
