Sharjah, UAE – The 27th Sharjah International Arabian Horse Festival kicks off on Thursday.
This was under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.
It is organized by Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club until March 28 on the indoor field in the club’s covered hall.
With the participation of an elite group of owners and breeders of purebred Arabian horses from various countries of the world.
Purebred Arabian horse beauty contests
The festival is held in cooperation with the European Authority for Purebred Arabian Horse Beauty Competitions “ECAHO” and with the support of the Sharjah Sports Council.
In cooperation with the Emirates Arabian Horse Association and sponsored by the Sharjah International Airport Authority, the main sponsor of the festival.
11 countries participating in the festival
217 horses from 11 countries are participating in the festival: the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iraq, Jordan, Egypt, Kuwait, Oman, Brazil, Austria and China.
In a new confirmation of the global position that the festival occupies on the agenda of Arabian horse beauty championships.
Rounds designated for foals
On its first day, the festival will witness the holding of 4 rounds dedicated to foals, with a total participation of 72 horses, distributed over the first round, “one-year-old foals”: two sections, “A / B”, with a total of 36 horses, the second round, “two-year-old foals”: 18 horses, and the third round, “3-year-old foals”: 18 horses.
The second day includes 7 rounds with the participation of approximately 105 horses. The fourth round includes “mares 4 years old and over”: two “A / B” sections with a total of 35 horses. The fifth round includes “one-year-old foals”: two “A / B” sections with a total of 24 horses. The sixth round includes “two-year-old foals”: two “A / B” sections with a total of 23 horses. The seventh round includes “three-year-old foals”: two “A / B” sections with a total of 23 horses.
On the third day, the morning period was allocated for the riding round for mares and castrated horses and the riding round for stallions in a distinctive addition that reflects the diversity of the championship this year. As for the evening period, it will witness the eighth round “stallions 4 years and older”: two sections “A / B” with the participation of 40 horses.
6 main tournaments
The first, second and third place finishers from the qualifying rounds qualify for 6 main tournaments.
