Abu Dhabi, UAE – The Ministry of Culture announced the launch of the “Emirati Crafts Award – Make in the Emirates” in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology.

The award aims to consolidate the position of Emirati crafts as a sustainable production sector, and to support Emirati craftsmen economically and professionally by providing development and expansion opportunities.

Two award paths
The award is divided into two main tracks, the first of which includes individuals (craftsmen), and honors creative individuals who have demonstrated excellence in the practice of Emirati crafts and contributed to their preservation, development, and transmission to future generations.
This is done through training initiatives or active participation in events and exhibitions.
The second track focuses on the private sector, targeting companies, factories, and studios that have successfully integrated Emirati crafts into their products.

Heritage Pavilion for Emirati Craftsmen
It is noteworthy that the fourth edition of the “Make in the Emirates” initiative, which was held last year, witnessed the launch of the first heritage pavilion dedicated to Emirati craftsmen, organized by the Ministry of Culture.
To constitute a leading platform that celebrates the authentic craft heritage and highlights its economic potential.
The pavilion included more than 200 craftsmen from various emirates of the country.
Along with entrepreneurs, industrial experts and technology innovators.
The pavilion also featured live performances of more than 40 traditional crafts, distributed across 10 main areas.
