Manila, Philippines – The UAE cycling and manual team for people with disabilities is preparing to participate in the European Cup in Slovakia and the World Championship in the United States of America next August.
This is part of the preparations program for the 2026 Asian Paralympic Games.
Outdoor camp in Slovakia
The UAE national team will begin its external camp in Slovakia during the period from July 15 to August 10, 2026, before the European Cup.
He will then move to another external camp in Girona, Spain, from August 11 to 28, in preparation for the World Championships in America from August 30 to September 8.
Another camp in Malaysia
The preparation program also includes holding an outdoor camp for road and track riders in Malaysia from September 13 to 28, and China from September 29 to October 15.
All the way to participating in the World Track Championships in the Netherlands, scheduled from October 25 to November 2.
Philippine Championship
On the other hand, the UAE national team will open its participation in the Asian Track Championship hosted by the Philippines on March 27, with a list that includes players Ahmed Al Badawi, Abdullah Al Balushi, and Salama Al Khatri, to compete in speed races, individual pursuit, elimination, scratch, and kilo races.
Mohamed El Meroui, the national team coach, stressed that the Asian Track Championship is an important milestone in preparing the team for the upcoming events. In order to achieve more achievements after cyclist Ahmed Al-Badawi was recently crowned bronze medalist at the Paralympic Cycling World Cup in Thailand.
He praised the provision of all opportunities to participate in tournaments and external camps, which contributes to developing technical levels.
