Abu Dhabi, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, met with His Excellency Aleksandar Vučić, President of the Republic of Serbia, on Sunday to discuss the latest regional developments. They also discussed the repercussions of the military escalation on regional and international peace and security.
Discussion of Iranian attacks
During the meeting, the two sides discussed Iran’s ongoing attacks against the UAE and other countries in the region. These attacks have targeted civilians, civilian facilities, and infrastructure. The President of Serbia affirmed his country’s full solidarity with the UAE and its support for the UAE in protecting its security, stability, and territorial integrity.
A call for dialogue and diplomatic solutions
Both sides stressed the importance of halting the escalating military operations. They also affirmed their commitment to serious dialogue and diplomatic solutions to address the outstanding issues in the region. This aims to preserve security and stability and prevent further tension and crises.
Serbia and strengthening bilateral cooperation
The meeting also explored various areas of cooperation and joint work between the two countries. Both sides affirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in the economic, investment, and development sectors. This serves their mutual interests and benefits their people, all within the framework of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the UAE and Serbia.

The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chief of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs, and His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor to the President of the UAE. A number of other officials were also present.
