Abu Dhabi, UAE – The UAE Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday that its air defense systems successfully intercepted a new Iranian attack targeting the country’s territory.
The military statement explained that the armed forces dealt decisively with three ballistic missiles and eight explosive-laden drones launched from Iran. They were intercepted and destroyed before reaching their targets, and no casualties were reported in this latest attack.
This operation is part of a series of blatant Iranian attacks that the UAE’s air defenses have countered with high efficiency. Official statistics released today also revealed a significant number of threats neutralized since the escalation began. These threats included the interception of 341 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,748 drones.
Despite significant defensive successes, these treacherous attacks resulted in painful casualties. The armed forces mourned the loss of two of their personnel who were martyred while performing their national duty. Previous attacks also resulted in the deaths of six civilians of Pakistani, Nepalese, Bangladeshi, and Palestinian nationalities, and injured 160 others. The injured included residents from more than 29 countries, among them Egypt, Sudan, Jordan, Lebanon, Sweden, and Turkey. This reflects the indiscriminate nature of these attacks, which target the security of civilians from around the world.
The Ministry of Defense emphasized in its statement that it is fully prepared and stable to deal with any future threats. It affirmed its commitment to resolutely confronting any attempt to undermine the security and stability of the UAE. The Ministry also reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and protecting its national assets and vital interests against any external aggression, ensuring that the UAE remains an oasis of security and safety despite current regional challenges.
