Abu Dhabi, UAE – Al Wasl returned to winning ways after defeating their guest Al Dhafra 3-0 in the match held at Zabeel Stadium, as part of the 20th round of the ADNOC Pro League.
Al Wasl moved up to fifth place with 33 points, while Al Dhafra remained in twelfth place with 18 points.
Al Wasl imposed their control during the first half, and opened the scoring in the 32nd minute through Fabio Lima with a powerful header, returning to scoring after an absence of 11 matches since his goal against Khorfakkan in the seventh round.
At the start of the second half, Ali Saleh strengthened Al Wasl’s lead with the second goal in the 51st minute, after taking advantage of a mistake by Al Dhafra’s goalkeeper, to score his 40th goal in the ADNOC Pro League.
The match witnessed two expulsions, one card for each team, as Gabriel dos Santos of Al Wasl was sent off, along with Vinicius Seraphim of Al Dhafra.
Substitute Renato Junior completed Al Wasl’s hat-trick in the 80th minute, confirming his team’s superiority and securing the three points.
