Abu Dhabi, UAE – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority announced the successful implementation of the approved evacuation plans for UAE citizens residing in several countries. Approximately 6,000 citizens and their companions were safely repatriated via land and air routes, in coordination with relevant authorities within the UAE.
National rapid response system
The relevant authorities explained that the evacuations were carried out within the framework of a comprehensive national system based on constant readiness and rapid response to various emergency and crisis scenarios. This ensures efficient and professional handling of regional developments.
They emphasized that the successful evacuation of citizens and their companions reflects the utmost priority the UAE places on protecting and caring for its citizens wherever they may be. This is achieved through continuous monitoring of events and coordination with relevant authorities both within and outside the country.
The role of diplomatic missions abroad
The relevant authorities indicated that the UAE’s diplomatic missions abroad played a pivotal role in the success of the evacuation operations. This was achieved through direct communication with local authorities in the countries where the evacuations took place. Travel arrangements were also coordinated for citizens who were unable to return to the UAE due to the current regional developments.
Some flights also included a number of residents who were unable to return to the UAE due to airspace closures in certain areas. This reflects the UAE’s humanitarian approach to caring for its residents and considering them an integral part of its social fabric.
Invitation to register for the “My Presence” service
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated its call for UAE citizens to register with the “Tawajudi” service and to contact the designated emergency hotline for citizens abroad in case of emergencies. It also emphasized the importance of adhering to the directives and instructions issued by the relevant authorities and obtaining information only from official channels.
