Abu Dhabi, UAE – Abu Dhabi Customs affirmed its continued collaboration with strategic partners and relevant authorities to ensure the continuity of customs operations. It also emphasized maintaining the smooth flow of shipping and trade through the emirate’s customs ports, amidst regional developments.
Field tour to enhance readiness
Rashid Lahej Al Mansouri, Director General of Abu Dhabi Customs, conducted an inspection tour of customs operations at the cargo village of Zayed International Airport. He met with field teams and reviewed their efforts in managing daily operations. He also observed their handling of the increasing cargo volume.
The tour included inspections of various work sites to ensure the application of the highest occupational safety and security standards. This contributes to providing a suitable working environment for employees and those interacting with the customs system.
Supporting the smooth flow of trade
Al Mansouri emphasized the importance of adhering to approved operational plans and procedures to ensure the continuity of efficient and flexible operations. This enhances the readiness of the customs system at key ports of entry and guarantees the continuity of operations in accordance with best practices.
He noted that the smart customs systems implemented in Abu Dhabi contribute to expediting customs clearance procedures for shipments. They also enhance the efficiency of logistical operations related to international trade.

The visit also included a meeting with representatives of shipping companies operating in the Cargo Village, where Al Mansouri emphasized Abu Dhabi Customs’ commitment to providing the necessary support to the business sector. He also affirmed the streamlining of procedures for companies operating in the transport and logistics sector.
He stressed that these efforts are part of Abu Dhabi’s strategy to enhance its position as a global hub for trade and logistics, and to ensure the efficient continuity of supply chains under all circumstances.
