Abu Dhabi, UAE – Shabab Al Ahli achieved a resounding 5-1 victory over Kalba in their match on Wednesday evening at Rashid Stadium, as part of the nineteenth round of the UAE Pro League.
With this victory, Shabab Al Ahli raised their points tally to 46, temporarily topping the league table, two points ahead of Al Ain in second place, who have a match in the same round. Meanwhile, Kalba’s points remained at 20, leaving them in ninth place.
Clear superiority of Al Ahly youth
Al Ahli started the match with clear attacking pressure and managed to score early through Yuri Cesar. However, the goal was disallowed for offside.
Mohammed Juma Al Mansouri opened the scoring in the 36th minute, capitalizing on a mistake by the Kalba goalkeeper. Kon Santos then doubled the lead in the 46th minute after a brilliant dribble inside the penalty area.
A game-changing expulsion and a quintet for the Knights
Kalba’s suffering increased after their player Sekou Baba was sent off in the 51st minute, allowing Shabab Al Ahli to exploit the numerical disadvantage and continue their dominance.
Yuri Cesar added the third goal in the 55th minute. The same player then scored the fourth goal three minutes later, benefiting from a perfect pass from Emiliano Cartabia.
In the 77th minute, Sardar Azmoun completed Al Ahli’s five-goal haul. Meanwhile, René Rivas scored Kalba’s only goal with a spectacular overhead kick in the 79th minute.
