Abu Dhabi, UAE – Al Nasr achieved a valuable victory over their host Sharjah with a score of 2-1, in the match that brought them together on Wednesday evening at Sharjah Stadium, as part of the nineteenth round of the UAE Pro League.
With this victory, Al Nasr raised their points tally to 26, maintaining their sixth position in the league standings. Sharjah, meanwhile, remain on 20 points in eighth place.
Al-Nasr takes the lead from a penalty kick
The first half saw an energetic start from both teams, with Al-Nassr having a slight advantage, relying on quick counter-attacks. Their efforts resulted in a penalty in the 29th minute after Abdullah Toure was fouled inside the penalty area.
Luka Milivojevic successfully converted the penalty into a goal for Al Nasr in the 30th minute, giving his team the advantage before the end of the first half, despite Sharjah’s attempts to equalize.
A second goal for Al Nasr and a late comeback for Sharjah
At the start of the second half, Sharjah tried to press for an equalizer, but without posing any real threat to the goal. Al Nasr exploited the spaces and succeeded in extending their lead with a second goal in the 67th minute through Abdullah Toure after a pass from Hussein Sadiq.
Before the end of the match, Sharjah managed to reduce the deficit through Othman Camara in the 81st minute after a pass from Igor Coronado, but the result remained the same until the final whistle, so Al Nasr earned three important points away from home.
