Abu Dhabi, UAE – Al Jazira secured a crucial 2-1 victory over hosts Al Dhafra in their match on Monday at Hamdan Bin Zayed Stadium. The game was part of the 19th round of the UAE Pro League.
Simon Banza scored Al Jazira’s two goals in the 15th and 54th minutes, while Moroccan Mohamed Al Khaloui scored Al Dhafra’s only goal in the 48th minute.

Al Jazira opened the scoring in the 15th minute when Simon Banza pounced on a rebound from the Al Dhafra goalkeeper and slotted the ball into the net, giving his team an early lead.
Al Dhafra suffered a heavy blow in the 24th minute after their player Rostand Djoh was sent off, forcing the home side to finish the match with ten players.
Despite being outnumbered, Al Dhafra managed to equalize early in the second half. Mohammed Al Khalawi capitalized on a defensive error by Al Jazira players and scored the equalizer in the 48th minute.
But Al Jazira’s response was not long in coming, as they continued their offensive pressure until Banza managed to score the second goal in the 54th minute. Thus, he achieved his first brace in the ADNOC Pro League this season.
The remaining minutes witnessed outstanding performances from both goalkeepers, with Al Jazira’s Ali Khaseif saving a powerful shot from Ibrahim Bayesh in the 61st minute. In contrast, Amjad Al Sayed saved Al Dhafra’s goal from a third goal after saving Nabil Fekir’s attempt in the 72nd minute.
Al Jazira continued to press throughout the final minutes, while Al Dhafra attempted to get back into the game. Ultimately, the match ended with a valuable 2-1 victory for the Pride of Abu Dhabi.
