Abu Dhabi, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, discussed the rapidly evolving regional situation in light of the escalating military tensions during a phone call on Sunday with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
The serious repercussions for security and stability in the Middle East were also discussed.
British solidarity and condemnation of Iranian attacks
During the call, the British Prime Minister reiterated the United Kingdom’s full solidarity with the United Arab Emirates.
Starmer expressed his country’s strong condemnation of the blatant Iranian attacks that continue to target Emirati territory and several other brotherly nations in the region.
He emphasized that these attacks constitute a flagrant violation of national sovereignty and a direct threat to regional and international security.
His Excellency also expressed his deep gratitude to His Highness the President of the UAE. He highlighted the UAE’s concern for British nationals residing within its borders and stressed the commitment to ensuring their safety and providing them with the necessary care during these exceptional circumstances facing the region.

For his part, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed his gratitude
to the British Prime Minister for London’s supportive stance towards the UAE.
He emphasized the depth of the strategic relations that unite the two friendly countries in confronting shared challenges.
At the conclusion of the call, both sides stressed the urgent need to immediately halt the military escalation
and to work diligently and jointly to prevent the region from sliding into a wider conflict.
They also affirmed that diplomacy and dialogue are the only way to preserve regional stability and security.
Furthermore, they emphasized the importance of protecting vital resources and the well-being of nations from the ravages of war.
