Abu Dhabi, UAE – The UAE Ministry of Defense announced that its air defense systems and fighter jets are currently engaging hostile threats originating from Iran. It confirmed that the sounds heard in various parts of the country were the result of intercepting ballistic missiles, drones, and other aerial vehicles. These threats targeted civilian infrastructure and facilities.
Today’s protest tally
In a detailed military statement, the ministry revealed that 15 out of 16 ballistic missiles launched today were detected and destroyed. The last missile fell into the sea. Among the counted threats, Defense operations were crucial. In addition, the air force also successfully intercepted 119 out of 121 drones. Two drones crashed within the country’s territory without causing any major damage.
Statistics on the attack since its beginning
The statement clarified that the total number of threats detected since the start of the blatant Iranian aggression has reached unprecedented levels. A total of 221 ballistic missiles were detected, of which 205 were destroyed. Of the remaining, 14 fell into the sea, and two landed on land. Additionally, 1,305 drones were detected, and 1,229 were successfully intercepted. In contrast, 76 drones landed within the country. Furthermore, eight cruise missiles were detected and completely destroyed before reaching their targets. This showcased active Defense efforts.
Human casualties and injuries of various nationalities
These indiscriminate attacks resulted in tragic loss of life, with three deaths recorded among residents of Pakistani, Nepalese, and Bangladeshi nationalities. An additional 112 minor injuries were also reported, affecting Emirati citizens and residents of various nationalities. These nationalities included Egyptian, Ethiopian, Filipino, Indian, Yemeni, Lebanese, Turkish, and others. Defense against such attacks is a priority; this reflects the indiscriminate nature of these attacks, which target the diverse social fabric of the country.

The Ministry of Defense emphasized that it is on high alert and fully prepared to deal with any future threats. It affirmed its commitment to resolutely confronting anything that might undermine the security of the state or infringe upon its sovereignty and stability. The Ministry urged the public to obtain information from official sources and to adhere to the instructions of the relevant authorities to ensure public safety.
