Abu Dhabi, UAE – Jiu-Jitsu competitions began on Tuesday evening as part of the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Ramadan Championship – Al Wathba 2026.
This is done by holding fights for the under-14 and under-16 categories, with wide participation from male and female players from clubs and academies across the Emirates.
In a Ramadan atmosphere characterized by enthusiasm and artistic discipline.
The fights witnessed a distinctive level of competition that reflects the development of the age base. With the emergence of skills in controlling the course of the fight and the diversity of styles between ground and high play and fast movements.
Several matches were decided by slight differences due to the similarity of levels.
The organization of the Jiu-Jitsu competitions within the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Wathba Ramadan Championship 2026 comes in a context that reflects the growing presence of the game within major community events.
It also confirms its important role in establishing the culture of sports as a way of life during the holy month of Ramadan.
This enhances the physical and mental continuity of players, and provides them with a competitive platform that maintains their readiness for upcoming events, within the framework of an integrated system that has contributed to consolidating the UAE’s global leadership in this sport.
Bani Yas Club came in first place, followed by Palms Sports Academy in second place.
Al Ain Club came in third place, after a strong performance and close competition between the participating clubs.
The competitions will continue for two more days with the under-18 category matches, and will conclude on Thursday with the adult category competitions.
