Abu Dhabi, UAE – Abu Dhabi Ports Group confirmed that all operations across its business sectors are continuing as usual in light of current regional developments.
She stated that, as a precautionary measure, she had activated crisis management and business continuity procedures in coordination with relevant authorities in the UAE.
This is to ensure the safety of its staff, partners, and stakeholders, and to maintain the continuity of services provided to customers without interruption.
All ports and terminals in the UAE, managed and operated by the Group’s Ports Sector, along with associated services, continue to operate fully.
Coinciding with the decline in maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, a similar decline in the number of ships arriving at Khalifa Port is expected.
However, services at Khalifa Port will remain at full operational capacity and without any interruption.
The Group expects increased handling volumes across its diversified global network, as a result of shifting trade routes in light of current regional developments.
In the group’s maritime and shipping sector, the vast majority of its fleet of 122 ships, including container cargo ships, general cargo, rolled cargo, and multi-purpose ships, operate in areas outside the Strait of Hormuz.
While ships currently present in the strait continue to operate shipping services within the Arabian Gulf region.
The impact on the maritime and shipping sector is generally expected to be limited.
The impact on the economic cities, free zones and logistics sectors is also expected to be limited.
As a global trade enabler with a diversified international portfolio, Abu Dhabi Ports Group continues to closely monitor geopolitical developments.
In addition to assessing any potential repercussions on shipping routes, supply chains, and global trade flows.
