Dubai, UAE – The Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai sent an important circular to managers of hotel establishments in Dubai regarding extending the stay of guests affected by the suspension, postponement or delay of flights as a result of the current exceptional circumstances.
The department explained, in the circular, that the step comes in line with the Dubai government’s directives aimed at providing all necessary forms of support and assistance to international visitors.
The hotel establishments were also called upon to cooperate to ensure that guests who were unable to leave due to these circumstances could extend their stay, in accordance with the terms of the original reservation itself.
The department stressed the importance of not evacuating any inmate under the current circumstances if he is unable to pay the cost of extending the stay.
She stressed the need to inform her as soon as possible when faced with such cases, and to provide her with a number of information.
Includes the guest’s original length of stay, extension period, as well as any relevant challenges or feedback.
The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi also sent a circular to hotel facility managers regarding extending the stay of guests who were unable to travel due to the current circumstances.
The department explained, in a circular, that the decision comes based on Law No. (8) of 2018 regarding the establishment of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, and the tasks and powers stipulated therein to achieve tourism development in the emirate.
The department called on hotel establishments to extend the stay of guests whose departure time has come but who are unable to travel for reasons beyond their control, until they are able to leave.
She confirmed that the costs of the extension period will be covered by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi.
