Tashkent, Uzbekistan – The UAE national judo team opens its participation in the Tashkent Grand Slam tournament on Friday.
This is with the participation of player Bashirat Khroudi in the women’s lightweight competition under 52 kg, in the Homo Arena hall.
The Judo Federation confirmed in a statement that the team is fully ready, after the training camp in Japan, to compete in the tournament organized by the Uzbek Federation.
This will take place from February 27 to March 1, with the participation of 380 male and female players from 40 countries.
He pointed out that the tournament draw will be held via video technology on Thursday, and that 3 matches will be played next Saturday in the light middleweight category “under 73 kg”.
With the participation of players Karim Abdel Latif and Najad Yazbek, while their colleague Talal Shufaili competes in the “under 81 kg” weight category.
He explained that the UAE national team will conclude its participation in the tournament with the heavyweight competition next Sunday, through player Aram Georgian in the under 90 kg weight category.
