Abu Dhabi, UAE – The National Initiative to Reduce Food Loss and Waste “Ne’ma” announced an unprecedented expansion of the “We Appreciate the Grace” campaign during the month of Ramadan 2026.
In a move that strengthens its national leadership in implementing the Food Rescue Programme, and establishes the largest geographical and operational spread of the program since its launch.
This year, operations are being carried out simultaneously in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Al Ain, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah.
This is within an integrated national system to redistribute food efficiently and sustainably.
The program aims to save more than 300,000 tons of food within the food sector, achieving a 50% increase in the recovered surplus compared to last year.
In line with the declaration of the “Year of the Family” in the country, the campaign is based on the “Family Breakfast Fund” initiative.
Which reflects a commitment to consolidating the values of solidarity and community compassion.
This initiative, like previous years, aims to redistribute surplus fresh produce and food from major suppliers and farms.
Including Majid Al Futtaim Group, Sellal, and Food Group, to support more than 10,000 deserving families across the UAE.
In this context, this year, the packaging centers affiliated with the “Ne’ma” initiative are transforming into community platforms, attracting families, private sector partners, and Emirates Foundation employees to participate in collective volunteer efforts.
By promoting a culture of volunteering between generations, the initiative embodies the UAE’s values of solidarity and unity.
It also gives families the opportunity to contribute to spreading goodness and maximizing the impact of giving during the holy month.
Thousands of volunteers and scheduled events
As part of the campaign, Ne’ma is mobilizing and mobilizing thousands of volunteers, including employees of participating institutions and their families, to volunteer at more than 54 scheduled events.
With the aim of packing and distributing boxes in seven main centers, including Expo City Dubai and Al Moatasem School in Abu Dhabi.
Through its pioneering “We Appreciate Grace” campaign and in cooperation with partners at all stages of the value chain, “Ne’ma” affirms its commitment to raising public awareness and reducing food loss and waste in the UAE.
All of these efforts contribute directly to achieving national goals within the UAE Food Security Strategy 2051.
It also supports the country’s commitment to halve food loss and waste by 2030.
In line with Goal 12.3 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
