Abu Dhabi, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development Affairs and Families of Martyrs and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Humanitarian Legacy Foundation, has approved a contribution of AED 100 million from the Foundation to the “Mother of the Nation Endowment for Orphans” campaign. This came in accordance with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
Promoting a culture of giving
His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed affirmed that the campaign embodies the values established by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Nation,” such as compassion, preserving dignity, and strengthening social cohesion. He added that the endowment reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in consolidating a culture of sustainable giving and nurturing future generations, according to his statements.
Campaign objectives
The “Mother of the Nation Endowment for Orphans” campaign aims to provide a sustainable source of funding that ensures orphans in the UAE have access to education, healthcare, and social support. This will enhance their quality of life and open up broader horizons for their future, according to Abu Dhabi Endowments.
Resource sustainability and direct supervision
The funds will be invested according to an approved mechanism overseen by Abu Dhabi Endowments, ensuring they are directed towards programs and initiatives with a direct and measurable social impact. This will also align with the UAE’s vision of making endowments a pillar of sustainability and social solidarity, according to the foundation’s data.
