Abu Dhabi, UAE – The UAE Special Olympics is participating with 28 male and female players in 5 sports within the Abu Dhabi Masters Games 2026.
They are athletics, bowling, swimming, table tennis, and badminton.
His Excellency Talal Al Hashemi, National Director of the UAE Special Olympics, said that the Olympics’ participation, which began on Sunday, in the Abu Dhabi Masters Games 2026, is an important milestone that reflects Abu Dhabi’s position as a global center for inclusive sports.
He explained that the participation of this number of people with mental and developmental challenges in 5 different sports embodies the strength of the players.
In addition to their ability to compete, their athletic abilities are evident in every track and field.
For his part, Saleh Al Marri, a player for the Abu Dhabi Club for People of Determination participating in individual and doubles bowling competitions, expressed his aspiration to provide a performance that reflects the effort and training they have made, to enjoy a distinctive sporting experience, and to present an honorable image of the Emirati Special Olympics players.
