Abu Dhabi, UAE – The AFC Champions League features crucial matches for Emirati clubs today, Monday, as Al Wahda, Shabab Al Ahli, and Sharjah face decisive tests in their bid to qualify for the Round of 16.
Al-Ahly Youth vs Al-Hilal
The UAE mission begins with an anticipated match between Shabab Al-Ahly Dubai and Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia, in a difficult test for the Dubai Knights, who are seeking to secure qualification for the round of 16.
Shabab Al Ahly currently sits fifth in the West Zone standings with 10 points, accumulated from three wins, one draw, and two losses. They need a win or a draw to guarantee qualification.
In contrast, Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia enters the match with a sense of ease after securing qualification for the round of 16, following their top ranking in the western region with 18 points.
Rashid Stadium will host the match between Shabab Al Ahli and Al Hilal at 8 pm Abu Dhabi time.
Al-Duhail vs Sharjah
In an equally important match, Sharjah will be hosted by Al-Duhail of Qatar, in a match where there is no alternative to victory for both teams in order to secure qualification.
Sharjah currently sits in eighth place with seven points, earned from two wins, a draw, and three losses. Al-Duhail is in seventh place with the same number of points, setting up a fierce competition between the two teams for a spot in the Round of 16.
The match will kick off at 8 pm Abu Dhabi time, amid great anticipation for one of the most exciting matches of the round.
Al Wahda vs Al Ahly
In the third match, Al-Wahda will face Al-Ahly Saudi in a game that is essentially a formality, as both teams have already secured qualification for the Round of 16, having finished third and fourth respectively with 13 points each.
The match will kick off at 5:45 PM Abu Dhabi time.
