Abu Dhabi, UAE – The United Arab Emirates welcomed the announcement of talks between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran to be held in the Sultanate of Oman. The UAE affirmed that this positive step reflects efforts to support dialogue and de-escalation in the region. In an official statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its appreciation for the efforts of the Sultanate of Oman in creating a conducive environment for dialogue. The Ministry also commended the Sultanate for hosting these talks, emphasizing that this reflects Oman’s constructive role in supporting understanding and dialogue at both the regional and international levels. The Ministry noted that this contributes to strengthening security and stability.
The UAE reaffirmed its belief that promoting dialogue, de-escalation, adherence to international law, and respect for the sovereignty of states are the best foundations for addressing current crises. It emphasized its unwavering approach of resolving disputes through diplomatic means. The UAE also expressed its hope that these consultations will yield positive results that contribute to de-escalation and strengthen security and stability in the region. It clarified that these efforts support regional and international peace.
