Cairo, Egypt – The port of El Arish received the Emirati aid ship “Saqr,” carrying approximately 4,000 tons of food, medical supplies,
and shelter materials, as part of humanitarian efforts to support the people of the Gaza Strip.
The arrival was attended by His Excellency Hamad Al Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to Cairo,
representatives of Operation “Al Fares Al Shahm,” Major General Mahmoud Shabaik,
Assistant Secretary-General of North Sinai Governorate, and representatives of the Egyptian Red Crescent.
The necessary procedures were implemented to unload the ship and transport
the aid to Gaza in coordination with relevant authorities to ensure its delivery to those in need.
This aid comes within the framework of ongoing cooperation between the UAE and its humanitarian institutions,
such as the Emirates International Aid Agency and the Emirates Red Crescent,
to alleviate the humanitarian suffering in the Gaza Strip and meet the basic needs of the population for food, medicine, and shelter.
The UAE delegation’s program also included a visit to the floating Emirati hospital in El Arish port, where a dialysis unit was inaugurated,
and a check-up on the condition of injured Palestinians receiving treatment on board.
During the meeting, Emirati and Egyptian officials emphasized the importance of continued humanitarian support for the Palestinian people,
stressing the need for cooperation among all relevant parties to ensure the swift and efficient delivery of aid.
This support aims to alleviate the suffering of the population and improve their living conditions amidst the difficult circumstances in the Gaza Strip.
This initiative reflects the UAE’s unwavering commitment to supporting the Palestinian people
and strengthening joint humanitarian efforts with Egyptian and international organizations,
within a strategy designed to enhance solidarity and provide immediate support to the most vulnerable communities.
