Abu Dhabi, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, met with His Excellency Daniel Noboa, President of the Republic of Ecuador,
to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
The two sides discussed developing avenues for joint cooperation.
Particularly in priority development areas, including the economy, trade, renewable energy, investment, sustainability, and food security.
This aims to achieve mutual interests and support development and prosperity for the people of both countries.
This came during a reception held by His Highness the President of the UAE at Al Bahr Palace in Abu Dhabi.
He received the Ecuadorian President, who is on a working visit to the UAE.
Investment deepens partnership
Both sides affirmed their shared commitment to advancing development relations between the UAE and Ecuador to broader horizons in the coming period.
They also emphasized their dedication to capitalizing on available opportunities to deepen their partnership across various vital sectors.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan noted that relations
between the UAE and the Republic of Ecuador date back more than five decades.
These relations have witnessed remarkable development in recent years, particularly in developmental fields.
He emphasized that the UAE attaches particular importance to strengthening its economic partnerships with Latin American countries.
It has taken significant steps in this direction, within the framework of
its vision to support shared prosperity and sustainable development.
The meeting also addressed a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Both sides emphasized the importance of joint efforts to promote peace and stability in the region and the world.
They agreed to resolve conflicts peacefully, through dialogue and diplomacy, in a manner that serves the interests of all parties.
Supporting development plans
For his part, the President of Ecuador expressed his gratitude and appreciation to His Highness the President of the UAE.
He also affirmed his country’s keenness to enhance cooperation with the UAE, particularly in the economic and investment sectors,
with the aim of achieving mutual interests and supporting development plans in both countries.
The meeting witnessed the announcement of the conclusion of negotiations on the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement
between the two countries. Additionally, a memorandum of understanding was signed between ADNOC and PetroEcuador.
This reflects the strength of bilateral relations and the commitment of both sides to expanding the horizons of strategic cooperation.
