Abu Dhabi, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, inaugurated today in Dubai the World Summit of Scientists,
the largest global gathering of Nobel laureates and other prestigious scientific award recipients.
This took place in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chief of the Presidential Court,
and His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense.
A partnership between science and decision-making
The summit will be held over three days with the participation of more than 100 scientists researchers
and leaders of research institutions from various countries around the world,
coinciding with the World Government Summit 2026.
A joint day was designated to bring together scientists with heads of state and government, ministers
and heads of international organizations, as part of strengthening the partnership between science and decision-making.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan affirmed that scientists are key partners in shaping the future,
and that investing in knowledge and scientific research is the most effective way to confront global challenges.
Knowledge is the wealth of nations
He stressed that the UAE will remain a global meeting place for minds and a supporter of innovation to serve humanity,
and will continue its role as a bridge linking the outputs of science with the needs of peoples.
For his part, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum affirmed
that knowledge is the wealth of nations, and that scientists are the makers of humanity’s future.
He pointed out that the UAE embraces minds, empowers researchers, and provides an environment
where ideas are transformed into achievements, based on a constant bet on humanity and on science to create the future.
The summit will discuss innovative solutions
The summit, organized in partnership between the World Government Summit and the World Association of Senior Scientists,
will discuss pivotal issues including artificial intelligence, quantum science,
biotechnology, data science, and transformative technologies.
This will enhance international scientific cooperation and contribute
to providing innovative solutions to economic, social and environmental challenges,
and consolidate the UAE’s position as a global center for science and knowledge.
