Goa, India – The UAE, represented by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, participated in the “Global Transition Towards the Electric State Era” session within Indian Energy Week.
Which was held in Goa, India, with the participation of an elite group of decision-makers and international experts in the energy sector.
The session discussed the challenges and opportunities associated with increasing global demand for electricity and the resilience of supply chains.
In addition to the importance of investing in smart and flexible infrastructure for electricity networks.
During the session, His Excellency Eng. Ahmed Al Kaabi, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for the Electricity, Water and Future Energy Sector, highlighted the UAE’s leadership through existing and future projects to modernize electricity networks, integrate renewable energy sources, and employ advanced digital solutions, ensuring reliable, accessible, and low-emission energy systems.
He said that expanding and modernizing electricity networks is a fundamental pillar for enhancing energy security, supporting economic growth, and accelerating the transition to clean energy.
Especially in light of the rapid growth in global electricity demand.
He added that the UAE continues to consolidate its position in the clean energy sector by diversifying the energy mix.
Foremost among these is the Barakah Peaceful Nuclear Power Plant, which represents a global model for producing clean and reliable electricity.
It contributes to reducing carbon emissions, enhancing the stability of the electricity grid, and supporting the country’s goals of climate neutrality and the transition to a sustainable energy system.
