Abu Dhabi, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, may God protect him, issued a federal decree appointing His Excellency Dr. Jamal Mohammed Obaid Al Kaabi as Secretary-General of the National Media Authority, with the rank of Undersecretary, in a step that reflects the wise leadership’s keenness to support the national media system and enhance its institutional efficiency.

This appointment comes as part of developing the organizational structures of the federal media sector,
in order to keep pace with the rapid changes in the media industry.
It enhances the ability of national media institutions to play their vital role
in conveying the state’s message internally and externally.

that expresses the values of the UAE and its future vision.
Dr. Jamal Al Kaabi has extensive experience in government and media work,
having previously served as Director General of the National Media Office.
He played a prominent role in supporting national media policies and promoting coordination among stakeholders in the media sector.
He also held the position of Undersecretary of the Department of Health in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi,
in addition to holding a number of leadership positions in the Abu Dhabi government.
This gave him diverse experience in the fields of public administration and decision-making.
Enhancing the status of Emirati media
The National Media Authority plays a pivotal role in unifying media orientations and messages
at the federal and local levels, and working to harmonize media policies.
This contributes to enhancing the position of Emirati media regionally and internationally,
