Abu Dhabi, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, received today at Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi, His Excellency Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey. This meeting took place within the framework of ongoing consultations between the two countries regarding their bilateral relations and regional and international issues of common interest.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Turkish Foreign Minister conveyed the greetings of His Excellency Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Turkey, to His Highness the President of the UAE, and his wishes for the UAE’s continued progress and prosperity. His Highness reciprocated by asking the Minister to convey his greetings to the Turkish President, and his wishes for further growth and stability for Turkey and its people.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed UAE-Turkey cooperation relations and ways to strengthen and develop them across various fields. This comes in light of the strategic relations and comprehensive economic partnership that unite the two countries. This reflects the keenness of both leaderships to develop joint cooperation in a way that serves mutual interests and supports sustainable development in both countries.
The meeting also addressed developments in the Middle East region. His Highness the President of the UAE and the Turkish Foreign Minister reviewed regional and international efforts to maintain the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. They also discussed the importance of an urgent response to the humanitarian situation in the Strip and ensuring the unimpeded flow of sufficient humanitarian aid.
In this context, both sides emphasized the need to intensify joint efforts and advance a just and comprehensive peace process in the region. This must be based on the two-state solution, which is the optimal way to consolidate regional security and stability. It is also a fundamental pillar for achieving the aspirations of the region’s peoples for development and prosperity.
The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Advisor, and His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chief of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs, along with a number of senior officials.
The President receives the Turkish Foreign Minister and they discuss bilateral relations and regional developments.
