Abu Dhabi, UAE – Al Wahda achieved a resounding victory over Bani Yas, with three goals to nil, in the match that brought them together on Tuesday evening at Al Nahyan Stadium, as part of the 12th round of the UAE League competition.
Al Wahda imposed their control on the course of the match early on, after Omar Kharbin opened the scoring in the 12th minute, after receiving a perfect pass from Dusan Tadic, which he finished directly into the net.
The duo of Kharbin and Tadic returned to shine again just six minutes later, as Tadic created the second goal, which Kharbin scored in the 18th minute, so that the Syrian striker continued his brilliance against Bani Yas and raised his goal tally against them to 6 goals in the Professional League.
Bani Yas tried to get back into the game and look to reduce the gap, but their attempts lacked sufficient danger in the face of Al Wahda’s solid defense.
In the 49th minute, Omar Kharbin completed Al Wahda’s hat-trick, scoring his third personal goal (hat-trick), also assisted by Tadic.
The game was confined to the midfield during the second half, amid a relative decline in the attacking pace, despite Al Wahda coming close to increasing the score.
While Bani Yas wasted a clear opportunity to reduce the deficit in the 74th minute, after Youssef Nketiah’s shot went over the crossbar, the match ended with Al Wahda winning 3-0.
