Abu Dhabi, UAE – His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the National Media Authority, affirmed that the establishment of the Authority was not merely the creation of a regulatory body. Rather, it was launched as a driving media force to unify the national voice, safeguard achievements, and convey the UAE’s inspiring story to the world, all with a forward-looking vision rooted in national principles.

In a post on his official X platform, His Excellency noted that the wise leadership believes in the importance of possessing a modern media system that reflects the language of the times. This is because media is considered a fundamental pillar of sustainable development. It also serves as a shield protecting national achievements and contributes to enhancing the country’s positive reputation both locally and internationally.

His Excellency expressed his gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, for his confidence in appointing him Chairman of the Authority. He affirmed that this appointment represents a national responsibility that necessitates translating the leadership’s vision into action by building a strong national media that keeps pace with the nation’s aspirations and reflects its position as a global model of leadership and innovation.

Sheikh Abdullah Al Hamed noted that the successes achieved by the media sector would not have been possible without the guidance and support of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai. He also acknowledged the significant impact of the continuous follow-up by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Chief of the Presidential Court. He emphasized that this vision formed the foundation for developing an advanced media system capable of innovation and meeting challenges.

His Excellency added that the next phase will witness the establishment of a professional and advanced media system. This will be achieved with a focus on innovation and creating content that reflects the values of tolerance, openness, and progress. It will also include building the capabilities of national talent, empowering youth, and strengthening strategic partnerships with local and international media institutions.

He emphasized that the Authority will work as one team with all governmental and private media institutions to realize the UAE’s vision of creating positive media content. This content will reflect the national identity and enhance the country’s position as a regional and global media hub.
