With this victory, Al Nasr raised their points tally to 18, securing fifth place in the UAE league standings. Meanwhile, Bani Yas remained on 7 points in twelfth place.

The match began with Bani Yas on the attack. They nearly opened the scoring in the 16th minute, but Al Nasr goalkeeper Abdullah Al Tamimi made a brilliant save to deny them a clear scoring opportunity.

Al-Nasr succeeded in converting their first threat into a goal, after Jontas Santos scored the first goal in the 18th minute.

Bani Yas quickly got back into the game and managed to equalize in the 25th minute, through Godwin.

In the 31st minute, Al-Nasr regained their lead, after Ramon Mirez scored the second goal with a powerful header that found the back of the net.

Bani Yas almost equalized before the end of the first half. However, Abdullah Al Tamimi continued his excellent performance and saved a penalty kick taken by Shukurov in the 45+10 minute of stoppage time.

Bani Yas suffered a heavy blow in the 53rd minute. The referee showed a straight red card to Lionel Wamba, following a strong tackle on one of Al Nasr’s players inside the penalty area.
