Abu Dhabi, UAE – Al Nasr regained their footing in the UAE league after securing a valuable 2-1 victory over hosts Bani Yas. The match took place on Friday evening as part of the 11th round of the ADNOC Pro League.
Al Nasr visited Bani Yas at the latter’s stadium, in a match that witnessed great excitement throughout both halves of the game.
Al Nasr’s goals were scored by Jontas Santos and Ramon Mereze in the 18th and 31st minutes, while Godwin scored Bani Yas’s only goal in the 25th minute.

The match began with Bani Yas on the attack. They nearly opened the scoring in the 16th minute, but Al Nasr goalkeeper Abdullah Al Tamimi made a brilliant save to deny them a clear scoring opportunity.
Al-Nasr succeeded in converting their first threat into a goal, after Jontas Santos scored the first goal in the 18th minute.
Bani Yas quickly got back into the game and managed to equalize in the 25th minute, through Godwin.
In the 31st minute, Al-Nasr regained their lead, after Ramon Mirez scored the second goal with a powerful header that found the back of the net.
Bani Yas almost equalized before the end of the first half. However, Abdullah Al Tamimi continued his excellent performance and saved a penalty kick taken by Shukurov in the 45+10 minute of stoppage time.
Bani Yas suffered a heavy blow in the 53rd minute. The referee showed a straight red card to Lionel Wamba, following a strong tackle on one of Al Nasr’s players inside the penalty area.
