Muscat, Sultanate of Oman – The UAE shooting team won 10 colorful medals.
It was distributed between 4 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals in the Arab Championship for Shooting Lead and Air Pressure.
The tournament is organized by the Oman Shooting Federation, under the supervision of the Arab Federation, and its competitions are held at the National Olympic Shooting Complex in Muscat, with the participation of 14 Arab countries.
The tournament, which will be held from December 20 to 25, witnessed wide participation.
It reached 141 male and female shooters in the junior, boys and girls, and general categories for males and females, amid strong competition between the Arab teams.
The gold medals for the UAE national team came from Ibrahim Khalil Ibrahim in the men’s individual rifle competition, and Fatima Al Suwaidi in the girls’ individual rifle competition, in addition to the gold medal for the men’s rifle teams, which included Ibrahim Khalil Ibrahim, Salem Mohammed Al Yamahi, and Talal Mohammed Al Ali, in addition to the gold medal for the boys’ pistol teams from Saud Ahmed Al Ali, Mohammed Kamel Mahdi, and Abdullah Obaid Al Ali.
The team also won 3 silver medals, which came from Yasmine Abdel Rahman Tahlak, in the women’s individual rifle, Reem Al-Kutbi, in the girls’ individual pistol, and Muhammad Kamel Mahdi, in the boys’ individual pistol, while it won 3 bronze medals, which went to Sultan Saleh Hassan, in the individual rifle Junior, Saud Ahmed Al Ali, in the individual pistol junior, and Ahmed Abdullah Al Amiri, in the individual pistol men.
Ali Abdullah bin Noma Al Ketbi, head of the UAE national team delegation, praised the results achieved by the national team players.
He stressed that the tournament witnessed strong competitions and high technical levels from the various participating teams.
He added that this achievement reflects the development of the Emirati sport of shooting and the ability of its players to compete in various forums.
