Doha, Qatar – The UAE national weightlifting team opened its participation in the West Asian Championship in the Qatari capital, Doha, by winning two bronze medals for the national team and Abu Dhabi Club player Zahra Al Hashemi in the 53 kg weight category.
The UAE national team is participating in the West Asian and Arab Championships and the Qatar Cup, for the junior, youth and adult categories, in Doha, which will be held from December 19 to 24.
Al-Hashemi stressed that winning two bronze medals in the tournament is a strong incentive for the team to achieve more achievements in the tournament.
For his part, Nasser Khamis Al Muhairbi, Executive Director of Abu Dhabi Club, explained that player Zahra Al Hashemi performed strongly in the tournament, culminating in winning two bronze medals.
For his part, Hamad Jumaa Al-Ajmi, a member of the Federation’s Board of Directors and Chairman of the Technical Committee, described winning the two bronze medals as a motivating start for the national team’s male and female players at the junior, youth and adult levels.
Especially since it is witnessing strong competition from 20 countries.
In addition to the important value it represents in enhancing the national teams’ competitive experience.
