Abu Dhabi, UAE – Sharjah FC of the UAE suffered a 1-0 defeat against Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia. The match took place on Monday evening as part of the AFC Champions League.
Al Hilal visited Sharjah as part of the sixth round of the AFC Champions League.
The match started strongly for both teams in the opening minutes, with a relative advantage for Al-Hilal Saudi.
Sharjah managed to score the first goal in the 32nd minute of the first half. The goal was scored by Igor Coronado, but it was disallowed for offside.
In the 50th minute of the second half, Al-Hilal’s Ali Al-Bulaihi missed a chance to score the first goal. This opportunity came after a header that went just wide of the post.
Sharjah responded with a shot from Majid Surour in the 55th minute. Mohammed Al-Yami, Al-Hilal’s goalkeeper, made a difficult save and the shot went out of play.

Al-Hilal Saudi scored the winning and only goal of the match in the 81st minute, through Malcom.
The goal came after a pass from Cancelo reached Malcom, who was positioned inside the penalty area, and then he shot a ball that found the back of the net.

With that result, Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia raised its tally to 18 points at the top of the West Group standings of the AFC Champions League Elite.
Sharjah came in seventh place with 7 points.
