Abu Dhabi, UAE – Under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Nation,” Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan,
Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, inaugurated today in the capital, Abu Dhabi
The proceedings of the Third World Conference of
the Emirates Council for Sharia Fatwas, entitled: “The Family
in the Context of Jurisprudence of Reality
National Identity and a Cohesive Society.”
The conference was attended by a number of prominent figures from within the country
and abroad, along with a select group of scientists, experts and specialists.
This is with the active participation of local, regional and international media.
The opening session began with the playing of the UAE national anthem
and the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran.
Then a video clip was shown explaining the vision of the conference
and its value and societal dimensions, followed by speeches
from senior officials and conference guests.
Supporting the family is a noble national act
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak stressed that the conference embodies the determination
to follow the directives of the Mother of the Emirates,
and that supporting the family is a noble national act that contributes to the progress of society.
He explained that the conference’s interest in the family stems
from the fundamental importance of Islamic law.
It focuses on linking jurisprudence with changing reality to ensure
the sustainability of the family and promote its values in society.
He pointed out that the conference highlights the role of the family
in developing individuals’ capabilities and strengthening family and social bonds.
Employing modern technologies, including artificial intelligence,
to support communication between family members.
This is in line with the requirements of the times and achieves the goals of community development.
The family is the nucleus of social peace
Sheikh Abdullah bin Bayyah, Chairman of the UAE Fatwa Council,
delivered a speech addressing the jurisprudential
and social dimensions of the family in light of modern transformations
He emphasized that the family represents the fundamental nucleus of social peace
and that institutional fatwas contribute to strengthening family stability.
Preserving national identity while keeping pace with digital and social transformations.
Dr. Ahmed Tawfiq, the Moroccan Minister of Religious Endowments,
also praised the UAE’s role in supporting family issues.
He emphasized the importance of understanding the realities
of the situation in strengthening family cohesion and values.
Dr. Omar Habtoor Al-Dara’i, Vice Chairman of the Emirates Fatwa Council,
pointed out that the family represents the basic pillar of the national project.
And that striving to resolve its issues requires taking into account modern technologies and their impact on family life.
Over two days, the conference will discuss several topics including family stability,
national identity, digital transformations, and the impact of artificial intelligence.
This is in addition to showcasing leading national and international experiences in empowering families and supporting their societal roles.
This reflects the UAE’s vision of building a cohesive society capable of facing the challenges of the future.
