Johannesburg, UAE – South African player Jayden Schaper has advanced to the top of the “Race to Dubai” rankings for the DB World Golf Tour.
After benefiting from winning the Alfred Dunhill Championship title, which was held at the Royal Club in Johannesburg, the fourth tournament of the new season of the round in which the world’s brightest stars compete in search of obtaining qualification tickets to the major final in the UAE scheduled for November 2026.
Schaper, 24, celebrated his first career title on the DB World Tour.
After he had to beat his compatriot Chick Norris in a playoff round, when they finished the competition with 16 under par each.
Thanks to this victory, Schaper obtained 500 points.
To raise his total score to 848 points in first place in the “Race to Dubai” classification this season.
Schaper is looking forward to delivering a strong performance similar to last season when he was one of the 70 players who qualified for the final qualifiers in the UAE.
He then achieved 23rd and 20th places in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championships and the DB World Tour in Dubai.
The tournament was held as part of the “opening series” of the new season of “The Race to Dubai”.
Which includes tournaments held in Australia, South Africa and Mauritius, before the break at the end of December.
The tournaments will then resume with the “International Series”, which includes two tournaments in Dubai.
They are the Dubai Invitational Championship and the Hero Dubai Desert Classic next January.
According to the new season’s calendar for “Race to Dubai”, at least 42 championships will be held in 25 countries around the world.
The final qualifiers will be held in Abu Dhabi at Yas Links Stadiums from November 5 to 8, 2026.
In addition to the DB World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Real Estate Golf Club during the period from 12 to 15 November 2026.
