Abu Dhabi, UAE – Abu Dhabi Ports Group announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Kuwait Ports Corporation, the developer and main manager of many commercial ports and logistics areas in the State of Kuwait.
This is to discuss ways of cooperation in developing and operating container operations at the Corporation’s Shuaiba Port.
The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding, which took place in the Kuwaiti capital, was attended by Her Excellency Dr. Noura Al-Mishaan, Minister of Public Works of the State of Kuwait, and His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al-Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade.
The memorandum was signed by His Excellency Sheikh Khaled Salem Al Sabah, Director General of the Kuwait Ports Authority, and Captain Mohammed Juma Al Shamsi, Managing Director and CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Group.
Under the memorandum, the Abu Dhabi Ports Group will prepare the technical, environmental and financial studies necessary for the project.
This is in accordance with international specifications and standards approved by both sides.
Including the infrastructure requirements necessary for the project.
In turn, the Kuwait Ports Authority will identify the project area, cooperate, and provide the necessary support to the Abu Dhabi Ports Group to complete the necessary studies and obtain all necessary licenses and approvals for the project’s implementation from all relevant Kuwaiti authorities.
