Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Tuesday a travel ban to the Republic of Mali.
The ministry said in its statement: Due to the current events in the Republic of Mali, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs prohibits UAE citizens from traveling to Bamako.
Caution
It also calls on citizens who are there to leave and return to the country as soon as possible.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the importance of adhering
to the instructions and warnings issued by it,
and taking the highest levels of caution and vigilance.
The ministry urged citizens in Mali to contact them.
This is done through the number designated for citizens of the country abroad
in case of emergencies and crises, which is available around the clock.
Security tensions in Mali
The capital, Bamako, is currently experiencing security
and political tensions due to the ongoing conflict
with armed extremist groups.
