Abu Dhabi, UAE – His Excellency Jamal Mohammed Al Kaabi, Vice President of the Bridge Alliance, led a dialogue session entitled “In the Light: Privacy, Risk and Resilience in the Age of Misleading News”.
This came as part of the activities of the “Bridge Summit 2025”, which hosted Richard Attias, Strategic Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bridge Alliance, and Cecilia Attias, Founder and President of the Cecilia Attias Foundation for Women, and a member of the Advisory Board of the Bridge Alliance.
The lecturers provided an in-depth discussion about the challenges of the digital age, and the responsibility it imposes in dealing with artificial intelligence and social media platforms amid the rise of misleading news.
They also reviewed the consequences of being in the spotlight and fame and the risks that accompany that to private life.
In his intervention during the session, Richard Attias linked his academic background in engineering to his current career.
He explained that he moved from building physical bridges to building bridges of communication between people, driven by his belief that the UAE, with its cultural diversity and coexistence between nationalities, represents an inspiring model of human harmony, which encouraged him to create platforms for dialogue that contribute to reaching solutions.
Atias stressed that the UAE represents an integral part of his personal story.
He also described it as a country led by leaders who have clear dreams and turn them into reality.
He pointed out that he does not prefer to communicate via social media in general, despite his interest in the TikTok platform without publishing on it.
He explained that these platforms provide great benefits in exchanging knowledge, but at the same time they are full of misleading information.
Bridge.. Passion in the digital media era
In turn, Cecilia Attias expressed her confidence that everyone who attends the Bridge Summit emerges charged with passion.
She stressed that standing in front of an audience is an advantage that reflects an achievement and a message carried by a person, but this advantage, after entering the spotlight, is accompanied by risks that affect the famous person and his family.
She explained that she learned the need to be careful when talking about her private life and family, and to maintain private moments with herself.
She pointed out that people often create untrue stories about celebrities, which represents one of the most prominent challenges of fame.
The session came within the framework of the first session of the Bridge Summit 2025, held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC).
This was attended by 430 speakers from 45 countries, including leading innovators, policymakers, investors, technology experts, media organizations, and cultural leaders.
They offer more than 300 sessions, divided into seven main tracks: media, content creation economics, art and music, electronic games, technology, marketing, and filmmaking.
