Abu Dhabi, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, said on the occasion of “Martyr’s Day” – which falls on the thirtieth of November every year – that answering the call of the nation in all fields of national work is a sacred duty.
His Highness stressed that the greatest loyalty to our heroic martyrs is to make the leadership, glory, and advancement of the Emirates the ultimate goal and compass for our path in the present and the future.
The following is the text of the speech of His Highness the President of the State on the occasion of Martyrs’ Day: “The thirtieth of November of each year represents a glorious national occasion in which we honor the memory of our righteous martyrs.
They gave their lives for the UAE. They embodied the highest meaning of sacrifice for the sake of the homeland and in its defense. They exemplified its values, morals, and authentic principles. They left behind an eternal legacy of pride and honor for their families and their nation.
On this occasion, we remember with immense pride and honor a constellation of our dearest and most precious sons, immortalizing their names and heroic deeds in the brightest pages of our history. May they remain a shining example of patriotism and unwavering defense of their homeland, and may their sacrifices continue to inspire future generations, motivating them to redouble their efforts and contributions to raise the flag of the UAE high in every field.
The commemoration of Martyrs’ Day comes every year to reaffirm that our precious homeland deserves our boundless sacrifice and dedication. We must answer its call in every field of national service. This is a sacred duty.
The greatest tribute we can pay to our heroic martyrs is to make the UAE’s leadership, glory, and progress our ultimate goal, and our guiding principle in the present and the future.
On this day, we extend our deepest respect and admiration to the families of our martyrs. They have set the most magnificent examples of sacrifice and devotion. They have instilled in generations a love for their homeland and a willingness to defend it with their lives. We affirm that caring for them will remain a steadfast and ongoing commitment.
May God have mercy on the martyrs in the highest heavens and reward their families and relatives well, and may the Emirates remain a symbol of pride, glory and strength.
