Dubai, United Arab Emirates – SkyGrid, a third-party provider of advanced air mobility services, signed a memorandum of understanding with Highlander, a provider of unmanned aircraft movement management and drone fleet management solutions.
This is to explore the possibility of developing an advanced airspace management system to ensure safe integration of manned aircraft and drones.
Including cargo drones and electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft.
Under this memorandum, signed during the Dubai Airshow 2025, the two parties will cooperate in assessing the operational environments supporting advanced air mobility.
Focusing on several key areas, including airspace integration, digital operations, vertical take-off and landing station integration, cybersecurity, and regulatory frameworks.
Jia Xu, CEO of SkyGrid, said that this cooperation represents a pivotal step towards laying the digital foundation for advanced air mobility operations in the UAE and the Middle East region as a whole, and contributes to drawing a unified vision to achieve airspace integration in a safe, sustainable and scalable manner.
The memorandum is consistent with the objectives of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi’s Economic Vision 2030.
It strengthens its commitment to technological innovation, economic diversification and sustainability.
For his part, Alon Abelson, CEO of Highlander, said that this partnership is a pivotal step towards developing an integrated and intelligent system for advanced air mobility.
It aims to create a harmonious operational environment where manned and unmanned aircraft can operate safely and efficiently.
He added that the UAE’s leadership and commitment to innovation are supported by major companies in this field, such as Boeing.
It contributes to consolidating its position as an ideal environment that emphasizes the role of automation, data-driven management and cross-sectoral cooperation in bringing about a qualitative shift in the future of air transport.
