Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – A number of Jiu-Jitsu coaches confirmed that the Abu Dhabi World Championship for Professional Jiu-Jitsu has succeeded in attracting elite players from all over the world.
It also contributed to highlighting promising emerging talents who are expected to have a distinguished future in the coming years.
The tournament will witness a record participation of more than 10,000 male and female players from 130 countries.
It is currently being held at Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City
Mauricio Roscoe, coach of the Adma Jiu-Jitsu Academy team, said: “I am proud of what I see of wonderful young male and female players from different countries of the world in this tournament”. I think they have a great and wonderful future ahead of them over the next five years, as everyone here is developing in the sport of Jiu-Jitsu in this wonderful country.
“We are experiencing a wonderful sporting atmosphere par excellence, and everyone is competing to win, especially young children who are the nucleus of the future and have great ambitions to move forward,” said Kazakh coach Riskel Duybeg.
Players: We will continue jiu-jitsu
For their part, a number of young players participating in the tournament expressed their desire to continue practicing Jiu-Jitsu.
This is because it has a great positive impact on their lives.
Young player Nasser Al-Tamimi from Sass Al-Nakhl School said: “I love jiu-jitsu because it added a lot to me, taught me patience, endurance and enthusiasm, and supported me a lot in my studies”.
His colleague, Mohammed Al-Dahmani, added: “I thank everyone who encouraged me to practice Jiu-Jitsu. You have given me so much, I practice it for my country, and I always look forward to the best.”
Player Ali Al Mazrouei said: “I am coming here to win first place”. Jiu-Jitsu gave me patience and strength, and taught me self-defense. I am proud of what I do and look forward to earning my black belt.”
