Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – K2, owned by the Abu Dhabi government and specializing in advanced autonomous systems and technologies supported by artificial intelligence, signed a memorandum of understanding with Huawei.
This took place during the “Drift X-2025 – DRIFTx” exhibition as part of the activities of Abu Dhabi Self-Moving Systems Week.
The memorandum aims to enhance cooperation in the areas of smart charging infrastructure and green energy innovation.
In addition to developing next-generation smart city technologies in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The partnership aims to support Abu Dhabi’s vision for sustainable urban mobility and smart infrastructure.
This is achieved by integrating the K2 system for autonomous and smart solutions in the mobility sector with Huawei’s global expertise in the fields of smart energy and digital technologies.
Sean Teo, CEO of K2, stressed that cooperation with Huawei embodies a common vision based on innovation, sustainability, and the adoption of smart technologies that contribute to bringing about a qualitative transformation in people’s lifestyle, mobility, and communication.
For his part, David Tao, CEO of Huawei in the UAE, said that signing the memorandum of understanding with K2 reflects the two companies’ joint commitment to innovation, excellence and sustainable growth.
He pointed out that cooperation will contribute to launching qualitative initiatives that will have a positive impact in the region.
For his part, Walid Al Balushi, Vice President for Strategic Affairs at K2, said that Abu Dhabi is not satisfied with adopting future technologies, but rather contributes to formulating them.
He pointed out that cooperation with Huawei aims to build an integrated system based on the concepts of innovation, independence and sustainability, stressing that the future of smart cities begins in Abu Dhabi.
