The UAE achieved a new sporting milestone after player Bashirat Khroudi won the country’s first gold medal at the Islamic Solidarity Games (ISSA) 2025.
And the event kicked off yesterday, Friday, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
The judo competitions saw the participation of 147 male and female players from 32 countries,
Among them are 12 Arab countries, in one of the strongest editions of the tournament ever.
First gold medal
The Emirati champion, Bashirat Khroudi, managed to impose her
dominance in the under 52 kg weight category.
Which includes an elite group of world-class players,
She defeated Kazakhstan’s champion, Ayova Tolganay.
Then on Uzbekistan’s champion, Mukha Yu Akhmatova,
Before she snatched the gold in the final from the city of Qorbotruda,
the champion of Tajikistan, the silver medalist.
With this victory, Bashirat Khroudi gifted the UAE its first gold medal in the tournament.

For his part, Mohammed bin Thaloob Al-Derei, President of the UAE Judo Federation,
congratulated the National Olympic Committee
The gold medalist, Bashirat Khroudi, was congratulated on this outstanding achievement,

Al-Dara’i stressed that there is still an opportunity to win
more medals in judo in the coming days.
