Dubai, United Arab Emirates – During its participation in the forty-fourth session of the Sharjah International Book Fair, the Emirates Media Council announced the launch of the “First Edition” program.
Which represents a qualitative initiative aimed at enabling Emirati creators to publish and fully fund their first publications.
With the aim of supporting the transformation of their distinguished ideas into pioneering creative projects, and enhancing the presence of the Emirati writer in the creative arena.
By increasing literary production and diversifying publications, in addition to enriching the Emirati library with new and diverse creations in the fields of literature and thought.
The program targets Emirati writers who have never published any printed publication before, from various fields of literary creativity.
Including novels, short stories, poetry, children’s literature, and other creative writings, to open new horizons for them in the world of publishing and professional writing.
The “first edition” is in line with the Council’s directives to build an integrated system to develop Emirati content and support local talent in the various stages of publishing, from review, editing, and design to printing and distribution.
To apply, the author must be a citizen of the UAE, the work must be original and not copied, quoted or translated, and it must not have been published in paper or digital form previously.
Applications from institutions or publishing houses are also not accepted, and the book’s content must comply with media content standards adopted in the UAE.
Those wishing to participate can fill out the electronic application form through the Emirates Media Council website.
Which includes the author’s personal data, an introductory overview of him, the title and type of the book, and a brief summary of the work within the limits of (300 words).
In addition to attaching an electronic copy of the draft and required documents.
