Al Ain, United Arab Emirates – The Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, in cooperation with the Emirates Foundation, announced the launch of the “Entrepreneurial Training Program for Retirees” through the Mazen Business Accelerator in Al Ain.

This will be from November 10 to 14, 2025.

With the aim of enabling retirees and those about to retire to transform their life experiences and expertise into successful entrepreneurial projects.

The selection of retired participants came in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Retirement Fund and the General Authority for Pensions and Social Insurance, as part of their partnership supporting this initiative.

The intensive five-day program focuses on developing participants’ skills and motivating them to explore new horizons in the world of entrepreneurship.

By providing them with the tools and knowledge necessary to transform their creative ideas into successful projects.  The program also provides participants with the opportunity to learn from elite experts through interactive workshops and inspiring training sessions, which contribute to supporting and continuing their productive career after retirement.

Mazen Business Accelerator in Al Ain hosts the program’s activities in a vibrant and stimulating environment that encourages innovation, collaboration, and professional development.

The accelerator is an important platform for embracing entrepreneurial ideas and transforming them into projects that can grow and expand.

Motivating segments of society

Khalifa Al Kuwaiti, Executive Director of the Entrepreneurship Sector at Khalifa Fund, said: “Khalifa Fund is keen to motivate and empower various segments of society to help them transform their innovative ideas into successful business projects.. Through the “Retirees’ Entrepreneurship Training Program,” we aim to enable retirees and those about to retire to leverage their accumulated experience and rich life experiences to launch innovative and successful entrepreneurial projects. This program is the starting point towards the extensive support network provided by the Fund, ensuring the continuity of the leadership and production journey after retirement age.

For his part, Ahmed Talib Al Shamsi, Executive Director of the Emirates Foundation, said: “This cooperation with the Khalifa Fund for Project Development comes within the new strategic direction of the Emirates Foundation, which focuses on empowering individuals at various stages of their lives and enhancing their contribution to society and the national economy.. Through the (Entrepreneurship Training Program for Retirees), we work to transform the experiences of retirees and those about to retire into new success stories in the world of entrepreneurship, reflecting one of the axes of our strategy of supporting community entrepreneurship and enhancing well-being and economic sustainability. We believe that investing in people does not stop at a specific age or stage, but rather extends as long as they have the desire to give and create, which is what we seek to consolidate through our qualitative partnerships and programs that keep pace with the UAE’s aspirations towards a more empowered and productive society.

various activities

The program is carefully designed to meet market needs and entrepreneurship requirements, and is offered by a group of distinguished trainers and experts.

The program begins by introducing participants to its objectives and the importance of Emirati startup projects.

Followed by a session on developing an entrepreneurial mindset and how to turn challenges into opportunities.

The second day then focuses on practical sales skills such as sales funnels, which are essential for attracting and retaining customers in a competitive market.

The third day is interactive and focuses on building brand identity in terms of message, features, and target market through a practical workshop.

On the fourth day, the program addresses basic concepts in the field of finance and investment.

Participants learn about financing strategies, financial planning methods, and the skills of presenting ideas to investors with confidence and in a professional manner.

The training program concludes with a “Presentations Day.”

Participants will present their startups before a jury of leading entrepreneurship experts, and the top three bidders will be honored.

The program concludes with the distribution of participation certificates to all trainees.
