Dubai, United Arab Emirates – The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) has launched the Knowledge Break initiative in Canada, aiming to promote quality reading in Arabic and disseminate the initiative’s message of supporting sustainable knowledge development and providing an environment that encourages analytical and critical thinking locally and globally.
This came during the first introductory meeting held in Toronto, Canada, in cooperation with the Mosaic Foundation. Hussein Darwish, from the Dubai International Program for Writing team, and Hind Zarif, Director of the Mosaic Foundation, spoke during the meeting. Hussein Darwish shed light on the “Knowledge Break” activity launched by the Foundation as a community knowledge initiative founded on a firm belief in the importance of knowledge in building individuals and society, and in creating open dialogue spaces that enable interaction between readers, authors, researchers, and specialists from various fields of knowledge.
Hind Zarif expressed Mosaic’s pride in this collaboration with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, and her appreciation for this “beyond the seas” step that enhances the world of reading and places the Arabic language at the center of attention through a knowledge-based community collaboration that raises the intellectual level and enhances the reading taste of Mosaic’s members. Building bridges of communication with the Arab world through the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation also nourishes emotional feelings and increases the sense of belonging to an ancient civilization that connects East and West and North and South.
Last March, the Foundation launched the “Knowledge Break” in the Australian cities of Sydney and Melbourne, in collaboration with the Federal Youth Foundation, represented by the World Youth Council of Australia, as part of a plan to expand the initiative’s scope and implement it globally.
His Excellency Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, said: “The Knowledge Break initiative in Canada aims to connect Arab readers around the world with their language and knowledge identity through unique intellectual platforms that support the sustainability of knowledge and provide communities with a real opportunity to engage with modern reading tools. This expansion represents a long-term investment in building minds capable of producing and sharing knowledge, thus consolidating the Foundation’s position as an effective driver in the global knowledge landscape.”
