Dubai, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, issued a decree appointing His Excellency Abdullah bin Damithan as Chairman of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation. This move aims to inject experienced leadership into one of the most vital sectors of the emirate’s economy.

Highlights
  • National leadership and global expertise
  • Engineer of “Jebel Ali” and “Jafza”
  • Future vision of the organization

National leadership and global expertise

The appointment of Abdullah Bin Damithan is the culmination of a distinguished career that began when he joined DP World in 2001. For over two decades, Bin Damithan has successfully formulated strategic visions that have enabled Dubai to become a leading global logistics hub. He has served as CEO and General Manager of DP World UAE and has overseen the group’s operations in the GCC region.

Engineer of “Jebel Ali” and “Jafza”

Bin Demaithan is one of the leading figures who contributed to the development of Dubai’s trade infrastructure. He oversaw the management of Jebel Ali Port, the largest and most important port in the Middle East. He also managed the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), a strategic hub for thousands of international companies. Bin Demaithan led the company’s transformation into a global provider of smart trade solutions and sustainable supply chains.

Future vision of the organization

As head of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, Bin Demaithan will work to enhance integration between the customs and free zone sectors. This will contribute to supporting Dubai’s D30 economic agenda, which aims to double the volume of foreign trade and increase the operational efficiency of sea and land ports. This appointment reflects Dubai’s approach of empowering national talent with proven field experience. It also contributes to ensuring the continuity of innovation in the logistics sector and solidifying the emirate’s role as an indispensable link in the global trade map.
