Dubai, UAE – Emirates International Aluminum Company signed an agreement with National Aluminum Company Limited (NALCO). It is a central government public sector company under the Ministry of Mines of the Government of India and is one of the major aluminium producers in India. To transfer its “DX+ Ultra” industrial technology for smelting aluminum, developed in the UAE, to India. For use in a major Nalco smelter expansion project.
Nalco will implement an expansion project for its existing smelter in Angul, Odisha, with an annual production capacity of 500,000 tons. Based on DX+ Ultra smelting technology developed by Emirates International Aluminum Company.
Nalco Emirates International Aluminium has selected a technology provider for the project following a competitive bidding process.
The project contributes to increasing Nalco’s aluminum production to more than double its current levels. Aluminum production is expected to begin by the end of 2030.
The technology developed by Emirates International Aluminum Company is one of the most efficient aluminum smelting technologies in the world.

Under the agreement, Emirates International Aluminum Company grants Nalco a license to use DX+ Ultra technology to build reduction cells with a production capacity of 0.5 million tons annually in the aluminum smelter in Anjoul. It will also provide specialized experts to support project development.
Emirates International Aluminum will train Nalco employees to operate reduction cells designed using its technologies.
Emirates International Aluminum Company has developed its aluminum smelting technology in the UAE over more than 30 years through more than 10 generations of this technology.
The company has relied on its technologies in all its smelter expansion projects since the 1990s. It has also modernized all old production lines using these technologies.
